D.I. TEAM FUNDRAISER
Our Scandia Destination Imagination Team won first place at the State meet and earned themselves a trip to Flobals in Knoxville, TN! We are so proud of them!
The team is currently raising funds to support their trip. On Friday, May 11, during lunch hours here at Scandia we are hosting a DIce Cream Social. Students can have one scoop for $1 or two scoops for $2. You can send dollars to school with your student but please send exact amounts as change cannot be give (the donations are dropped into a large cone.) THANK YOU for supporting our D.I. team!!

Scandia Elementary's annual Talent Show is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23. Registrations are due to your child's teacher by May 11. Forms are available in the office. Please remember that if your child is singing or dancing to music, we need to have the lyrics to the music attached to the registration form. MN Reading Corp Position Open
oin us as we head back to school this fall! Scandia Elementary IB World School is looking for caring adults to serve with Minnesota Reading Corps and help kids become successful readers. You'll work directly with students every school day, during school hours, August - June. We are looking to fill these positions: K-3 Literacy Tutor - 7 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents and retirees. With training, support from onsite coaches and evidence-based strategies, Reading Corps tutors are well-equipped to change lives. No previous teaching experience necessary!
Tutors earn a living allowance, education award (up to $5,920) to repay student loans or pay tuition, and federal student load forbearance. Congratulations Math Masters
Scandia's Math Masters team comprised of ten fifth graders competed very well in St. Paul at one of the state competitions for Math Masters. Scandia's students were divided into two teams which placed 12th and 13th respectively in a field of 35 teams. There were also 165 students who competed individually and Scandia students who placed in the top 25% were Augie Tarlizzo, Jackson Langreck and Mack Ibister. Scandia's Math Master's team is coached by fourth grade teacher, Rachel Strehlow.
