  • Full Day Preschool 2020/2021

Full Day Preschool is offered at seven locations throughout the district for four and five-year-old children. It is solely funded through parent fees. Since the Full Day program does not receive any state funding the program fully relies on parent fees to offer high-quality programming for our students.  Click here for more information.

  • Recess

We believe students need fresh air and physical activity, therefore all students will go outside for their assigned grade level recess time. Please be sure your child is properly dressed for the various weather conditions. During winter months, this includes wearing a hat or ear band, mittens, snow pants, jacket, and boots. Students will go outside unless the temperature/wind chill is below -10 degrees.

  • School Closing Information Links

The Forest Lake Area School District will work to provide you with school closing information as quickly and early in the morning as possible. However, sometimes there is a delay between the time local TV and radio affiliates are notified and the school closure information is broadcast to the public.

The following links provide information on how the decision to close schools is determined and where to find the most up-to-date school closing information:

School District Emergency Weather Hotline: (651) 982-8143

♦ Forest Lake Times article: Why and when weather forces Forest Lake Area Schools to close

♦ WCCO - School Closing Information

♦ KSTP - School Closing Information

    ♦ KARE 11 - School Closing Information

If school is closed due to inclement weather the SAC/Sonic program will be open at three locations for any students that are already enrolled in the program.  Those locations and phone numbers are :
    Lino Lakes Elementary    651-982-8862
    Forest View Elementary   651-982-8221
    Wyoming Elementary      651-982-8014

  • E-Learning Days

As you may have heard, we have implemented e-Learning days that will allow our students to continue learning on days when school is cancelled for weather-related reasons. These e-Learning days will only be implemented if more than two school days must be cancelled this year -- in other words, the first two “snow days” of the school year will not be e-Learning days.

If forecasts suggest that an e-Learning day might be possible, you can expect more communication on this topic from your child’s school and/or teachers with specific information about what students should do.

You will be contacted with more information later this summer.
