Kindergarten at Forest Lake Area Schools
Forest Lake Area Schools provides all day, every day kindergarten at all of our elementary schools at no cost to families.
If your child will be five years old by September 1, 2019, you may enroll your child in kindergarten for 2019-2020 at any time by downloading and completing the enrollment forms and submitting them to your child's school. If you are unsure about which school your child will attend, feel free to contact the Forest Lake Area Schools Welcome Center by calling 651-982-3154.
Exploring KindergartenOur elementary schools host an Exploring Kindergarten event each spring to provide incoming kindergarteners a taste of the kindergarten experience. Please check with your child's school for more information on dates and times.

Early Entrance to KindergartenIf your child will turn five years old after September 1 and on or before September 30, 2019, and exhibits social/emotional, intellectual, academic, and language skills you see as indicating readiness for kindergarten, and if you desire to have your child considered for early entrance to kindergarten, you may apply to have your child screened for early entrance to kindergarten in Forest Lake Area Schools.The date for Early Entrance screening for the 2019-2020 school year is April 25, 2019. The cost for screening is $350.00 and is nonrefundable. Applications must be submitted a minimum of one week before the screening date.
