Hearing and Vision Screening
Hearing and vision screenings are the most practical approach to identify children in need of professional services. Early identification and treatment can prevent or alleviate many of the problems that result from impaired hearing or vision.
Hearing and vision screenings are done on all students in grades 1, 3 and 5, and on students new to the district. In addition, teachers or parents may request that a student be screened if a problem is suspected. Teachers or parents should make a request to the health office nurse for the screening to be done.
Parents will be notified by the health office if their student does not pass a screening.
