Community Education’s Secondary Youth Development program focuses on offering a wide variety of activities for students in junior and senior high school. Activities listed below are a sampling of programs offered through Secondary Youth Development.
Supporting Academics:
- ACT and PSAT/SAT preparation courses are offered to help students prepare for college entrance exams.
- Music lessons are offered by licensed teachers
Encouraging Leadership:
- Community Education partners with Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau to provide opportunities for youth leadership and youth driven community service projects through the Youth Advisory Board.
Promoting Recreation:
- Firearm Safety, Golf Leagues, Lock-In and other fun activities provide safe and well-supervised opportunities for teens to be active and have fun with friends.

Have you heard about the MN K-12 Education Credits?
If not, you may be missing out on money you are entitled to! These credits can lower your tax bill and may even mean a larger refund when you file your Minnesota Income Tax return.
The Youth Development program wants you to know that many of our after-school and summer enrichment classes qualify for this credit.
