What is the difference between an emergency call and an outreach call?

In the event of a school closing, late start, early dismissal or other emergency situation, the district will attempt to reach parents as quickly as possible. Emergency phone calls will be sent to as many as six phone numbers per student. Parents will receive emergency calls at home, work, on their cell phone or mobile device, or at any other number the district has in its system.

Outreach calls are not as urgent, and therefore, they will be sent only to the primary phone number in our database. This is most often the home phone number. Return to top

What time will we receive late start/school closing calls?

In the rare event of a school closing or late start, the district will notify parents and staff members as soon as a decision is made. In these situations, Connect-ED phone calls may be made as early as 5:30 and 6 a.m. We know that many families start their days early and we want to make sure we reach all families with this important information before they leave home for the day.

    I Missed the Message

I received the call but I missed the information. What should I do?
While you are still on the call, you can replay the message by pressing star (*) on your phone at any time. You can also call the Communications Office at (651) 982-8118 to find out what the message was about.

I received the call but my answering machine cut it off. Why?

The system attempts to detect whether it is a live person or and answering machine that has picked up the call. In rare instances, such as when an answering machine message contains a period of silence, the system will detect an answering machine as a live person and start to deliver the message prior to the beep. If you miss a call and would like to find out what the message was about, please call the Communications Office at (651) 982-8118.

Will there be other attempts to reach me if I am unable to pick up the call?

Yes, the system will make a total of three attempts to reach you or your answering machine. If it is unable to reach you within two hours it will stop calling.
