Career Launch is funded in part with grant dollars awarded by Youth Skills Training @ Depart of Labor and Industry. Forest Lake Area High School has created a program to better serve area students and area businesses by providing real world experiential learning opportunities. These opportunities include: Career Day speakers, workplace tours, job shadowing, mentorship, and work based learning.
Students will have the opportunity to access these resources, develop their professional skills, attain industry related credentials, and participate in paid work based learning experiences through the Career Launch A (Explore) and Career Launch B (Experience) courses. Both of these courses will be open to 11th and 12th grade students. Current career fields of focus include: agriculture, manufacturing, automotive, construction, and health care, but all students are welcome to enroll in the class.
Students and parents interested in these experiences, or businesses wanting to partner, should contact Mike Miron at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-982-8510.
