PLANNING FOR HIGH SCHOOLThe world is changing and our children need to be better prepared than ever. A high school diploma simply isn't enough any more. Today's students will need a college education or advanced vocational training to compete in the workplace.
Success in college starts now!
Seventh and eighth grade students can plan for high school and college by:- Thinking about career possibilities and exploring different occupations. Select elective classes in areas of interest.
- Start planning your high school coursework and activities. Keep in mind that colleges will look for challenging coursework, a good grade point average, and extracurricular activities such as sports, volunteer work, and church or community involvement. (These activities are advantageous when applying for scholarships as well.
