Welcome to Linwood
February is "I Love to Read" month.
Our 6th grade Ambassadors have planned some great activities for our students this month!
DEAR (DROP EVERYTHING AND READ)
Students are invited to participate in a daily school wide DEAR time in their classroom at 3:00 each day in February.
Wearable Words Day: Thursday, February 11th
Students can wear their favorite shirt or sweatshirt that contains words.
Messages shared on clothing should be school appropriate.
Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character: Friday, February 19th
Students can dress like their favorite character from their favorite book!
Guest Readers: During the week of February 22nd-26th, 6th Grade Lion Ambassadors will visit classrooms virtually and read a book.
"Our Read-A-Thon is February 1st - 28, so please register NOW to help our school raise as much as we can for additional document cameras and general funds:
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
Follow the instructions on-screen to register students
When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. This event is strictly online fundraising and a perfect way to get your littles to read.
1) If you register your child AND send out 10 emails by Sunday, February 14 you will be entered into a drawing for a prize (must do both)
2) Top Classroom (with the most minutes read) will get an extra 30 minute recess and Gretchen will watch the kids so the teacher gets free time. The Teacher also gets a $20 gift card to Target!
3) Top Student from each grade (most minutes read) gets a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble!
4) If the $5,000 goal is reached by February 28th, the top student for the school gets to throw a pie in the Principal’s face!"
21-22 Kindergarten is filling up fast.
Registration is now open.
