Our elementary (grades K-6) schools are community-based and students attend school based on their home address.

Students and families who do not live within the district's boundaries can still attend Forest Lake Area Schools through Open Enrollment. Please click the Open Enrollment tab above for more information.

Our three secondary schools for students in 7th grade and above serve students who live throughout the entire district. 

Forest Lake Area Schools is happy to provide a great education to all students who wish to attend our schools, whether they live within our boundaries or in other districts.

Open Enrollment Form - Currently Enrolling

All open enrollment students coming into our district must first submit an Open Enrollment Form to the Superintendent's Office. Open Enrollment Forms can be mailed to: Superintendent Steve Massey, Forest Lake Area Schools, 6100 N. 210th St., Forest Lake, MN 55025, or they can be simply dropped off at our district office building. Forms can also be scanned in as a PDF and emailed to jmouch@flaschools.org.

Note: Forest Lake Area Schools is currently accepting open enrollment forms at any time of the year. 

Choosing a School

Our School District includes 10 great schools. Obviously, there are many important factors to consider before selecting a school for your child. You may want to visit several of our schools before choosing one for your child. Please also keep in mind that while all of our schools offer an outstanding education, each school is slightly different and a particular school may offer specific programs and options that you might prefer for your child. 

Transportation 

Some open enrollment students may be eligible to receive transportation to their school of choice. In order to receive transportation services, you must submit the Open Enrollment Transportation Request Form to the Superintendent's Office. Open Enrollment Registration Process

To Register Your Child Through Open Enrollment:

1. Select the school you want your child to attend, and complete and submit the Open Enrollment Form and, if desired, an Open Enrollment Transportation Request Form to the Superintendent's Office.
2. Enroll your student online or through paper enrollment forms (see Enrollment Checklist for more details).

We offer an elementary Spanish Immersion Plus program at three elementary school sites: Lino Lakes Elementary, Forest View Elementary and Forest Lake Elementary. Enrollment is open to any elementary student in the district and school bus transportation is provided for students who live within the district boundaries.
