Elementary Schools

Our elementary schools (grades K-5) are community-based and students attend school based on their home address. Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, our elementary school attendance boundaries have changed. You can look up your home address and school with the upcoming new boundaries below.

2026 and Future Attendance Area Boundaries:

Parents who wish for their student to attend a Forest Lake Area Schools district elementary school outside of your home address attendance area may make that request with our In-District Transfer Form.

Secondary Schools:

Students from our entire school district are served by our three secondary schools for students in 6th grade and above.

Students and families who do not live within the district's boundaries can still attend Forest Lake Area Schools through Open Enrollment. Please click the Open Enrollment tab above for more information.

How to Enroll

Enrolling Online

Online enrollments are done through ParentVUE, our student information system. To enroll online, you will need the following:

An active ParentVUE account.
- New families can submit a request for a ParentVUE account to enroll your student.
- Families with a student currently enrolled in our district, can log in to your account and enroll a new student or update current student information. Reach out to your current school if you do not know your login information.
Immunization form or immunization records
Confidential Health Form (elementary K-5) or Confidential Health Form (secondary 6-12)
Student's birth certificate (required for students who were not previously enrolled in another Minnesota public school district)

Enrolling with Paper Forms

To enroll with paper enrollment forms, you will need the following forms and documents:

Immunization Form
Confidential Health Form (elementary K-5) or Confidential Health Form (secondary 6-12)
Student's birth certificate (required for students who were not previously enrolled in another Minnesota public school district)

Kindergarten students will also need:

Copy of Early Childhood Screening (for kindergarten students only)

Open Enrollment

Forest Lake Area Schools is happy to provide a great education to all students who wish to attend our schools, whether they live within our boundaries or in other districts.
Please note: Open enrollment is currently closed for the 2026-2027 school year. Open enrollment applications for 2027-2028 will continue to be accepted.

Open Enrollment Form

All open enrollment students coming into our district must first submit an Open Enrollment Form to the Superintendent's Office. Open Enrollment Forms can be emailed or mailed to Becky Jurkovich (contact info below), or they can be simply dropped off at our district office building.

Transportation

Some open enrollment students may be eligible to receive transportation to their school of choice. In order to receive transportation services, you must submit the Open Enrollment Transportation Request Form to the Superintendent's Office. Choosing a School

Our School District includes 10 great schools. Obviously, there are many important factors to consider before selecting a school for your child. You may want to visit several of our schools before choosing one for your child. Please also keep in mind that while all of our schools offer an outstanding education, each school is slightly different and a particular school may offer specific programs and options that you might prefer for your child.

Open Enrollment Registration Process

To Register Your Child Through Open Enrollment:

Select the school you want your child to attend, and complete and submit the Open Enrollment Form and, if desired, an Open Enrollment Transportation Request Form to the Superintendent's Office.
Enroll your student online or through paper enrollment forms (see Enrollment Checklist for more details).

Spanish Immersion

We offer an elementary Spanish Immersion Plus program at Forest View Elementary. Enrollment is open to any elementary student in the district and school bus transportation is provided for students who live within the district boundaries.

To enroll your student in the Spanish Immersion program, simply indicate your preference on the enrollment form.

We offer a variety of programs for infants through age 5, including Early Childhood Family Education and Little Rangers Preschool.

Our six community elementary schools provide a strong academic foundation for students along with lifelong connections and friends. Select schools also offer Spanish Immersion Plus and STEM programs.
