Welcome to Lino Lakes Elementary
Starting Wednesday, March 18th, our building will be closed. Please call 651-982-8850 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns. Please monitor your email for future communication. Distance learning will begin April 1. Thank you for your cooperation.
Spring conferences will be held via phone call on Tuesday, March 31 from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm, and Thursday, April 2 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Please contact your child's teacher directly if you need to schedule or make a change.
For district students who depend on school breakfast and lunch, starting Monday, March 16, grab and go meals will be available at any of the following sites: Wyoming, Forest View, Lino Lakes and the high school between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Meals will be available each day during the school closure, with the exception of Spring Break (March 23-March 31). These meals are available to any district student, regardless of which school they attend.
Lino Lakes Families,
Beginning April 1, we want to continue to provide access to our school library during distance learning. Please feel free to browse the catalog to see what we have available, but keep in mind, that given the circumstances, not all materials may be available, even if the catalog says they are available. Please email library book requests directly to Erica Daher at EDaher@flaschools.org. All requests should be received by Wednesday, and can be picked up along with other materials on Friday. The media webpage is updated frequently with links to excellent resources that families can use during distance learning.
Please note that returned books will be quarantined for 1 week before being redistributed or reshelved for the safety of our staff and families.

We believe students need fresh air and physical activity, therefore all students will go outside for their assigned grade level recess time. Please be sure your child is properly dressed for the various weather conditions. During winter months, this includes wearing a hat or ear band, mittens, snow pants, jacket, and boots. Students will go outside unless the temperature/wind chill is below -10 degrees.
School Closing Information Links
The Forest Lake Area School District will work to provide you with school closing information as quickly and early in the morning as possible. However, sometimes there is a delay between the time local TV and radio affiliates are notified and the school closure information is broadcast to the public.
The following links provide information on how the decision to close schools is determined and where to find the most up-to-date school closing information:
School District Emergency Weather Hotline: (651) 982-8143If school is closed due to inclement weather the SAC/Sonic program will be open at three locations for any students that are already enrolled in the program. Here Comes the Bus now available
- View the real-time location of your child's bus
- Access the app from your smartphone, tablet or computer
- Receive push notifications or email alerts
- Send your child to the bus stop at just the right time, every time
As you may have heard, we have implemented e-Learning days that will allow our students to continue learning on days when school is cancelled for weather-related reasons. These e-Learning days will only be implemented if more than two school days must be cancelled this year -- in other words, the first two “snow days” of the school year will not be e-Learning days.
If forecasts suggest that an e-Learning day might be possible, you can expect more communication on this topic from your child’s school and/or teachers with specific information about what students should do.
