Welcome to Lino Lakes Elementary
I hope you are all enjoying a fun and relaxing summer. As we look ahead to the start of school, we wanted to share some back-to-school plans for this fall and COVID-19. We are planning to be fully open for students learning in-person, starting school as scheduled on September 7th.
Current state guidelines recommend but do not require that masks be worn in schools. Our district plans to follow the same guidance for the start of the school year and recommend but not require that masks be worn in our buildings for students and staff. Masks will still be required on school buses as long as the federal requirement for masks on public transportation remains in effect.
We will continue to monitor COVID-19 activity within our schools and community, along with any updates to state and federal guidance. To help continue our community’s success against COVID-19 and keep our students learning at school, we are strongly recommending vaccination for all eligible students, staff and family members aged 12 and up.
Ranger Academy Distance Learning Option
We are happy to announce that we will once again offer our elementary Ranger Academy option this year for families who prefer distance learning. If you wish to enroll your Pre-K-6 student in Ranger Academy, please complete this registration form by August 5th. This deadline is to help us ensure that we have the correct number of teachers for both in-person and Ranger Academy classes. Families who choose Ranger Academy should plan to commit to that option for at least the first semester of the 2021-2022 school year.
At this time, we are not planning to offer a full distance learning option for secondary students in grades 7-12. If you have concerns about COVID-19 safety for your secondary student, please contact your school principal.
As we look ahead to the start of the school year, additional back-to-school information, including full details of our COVID mitigation will be coming out to families from both the district and your student’s school. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the first day of school.
Have a great summer! We’re looking forward to seeing students back in September!

Full Day Preschool 2021/2022
Little Rangers Preschool InformationThe Early Childhood Programs are an integral part of Forest Lake Area Schools (FLAS). We work together to assure that children transition smoothly into kindergarten. Our high-quality preschool classes focus on each child's social, physical, and pre-academic development. We use the curriculum Big Day for Prek by Scholastic to support a play-based approach to learning. This curriculum also allows children to engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities through hands-on exploration and discovery. The real-life skills that students develop through STEM help them become better problem-solvers and learners. Children will learn age-appropriate math, writing, music, art, language, and science while making friends and experimenting with their growing independence. Curriculum outcomes and objectives are aligned with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. Classes are taught by professional and dedicated staff who have extensive experience working with children birth to age five.
Have you rmoved? Changing jobs? If you have changed your home address, email, cell or work telephone numbers please call the Lino Lakes Elementary main office at 651-982-8850 as soon as possible. It is very important that this information is current in our system. If your student lives in two households, each household should have their contact information available.
Bus Change Requests
If your child will be picked up or dropped off at an address other than your home address you will need to fill out a bus change form. You can download the form Bus Stop Change Request and email it to email@example.com, drop it off at school, or fax it to 651-982-8891.
During a guidance lesson, students were encouraged to participate in the "Do Good From Home" challenge to help spread kindness during this time. Here are some of the acts of kindness that the caring students of Lino did! #DoGoodFromHome

We believe students need fresh air and physical activity, therefore all students will go outside for their assigned grade level recess time. Please be sure your child is properly dressed for the various weather conditions. During winter months, this includes wearing a hat or ear band, mittens, snow pants, jacket, and boots. Students will go outside unless the temperature/wind chill is below -10 degrees.
School Closing Information Links
The Forest Lake Area School District will work to provide you with school closing information as quickly and early in the morning as possible. However, sometimes there is a delay between the time local TV and radio affiliates are notified and the school closure information is broadcast to the public.
The following links provide information on how the decision to close schools is determined and where to find the most up-to-date school closing information:

Here Comes the Bus now available
- View the real-time location of your child's bus
- Access the app from your smartphone, tablet or computer
- Receive push notifications or email alerts
- Send your child to the bus stop at just the right time, every time
As you may have heard, we have implemented e-Learning days that will allow our students to continue learning on days when school is cancelled for weather-related reasons. These e-Learning days will only be implemented if more than two school days must be cancelled this year -- in other words, the first two “snow days” of the school year will not be e-Learning days.
If forecasts suggest that an e-Learning day might be possible, you can expect more communication on this topic from your child’s school and/or teachers with specific information about what students should do.
