Students at Forest Lake Area High School have many opportunities to enroll in classes that provide college credit. Our Ranger U College in the Schools (CIS) program collaborates with several area universities and community and technical colleges to offer classes for college credit, taught within our high school by highly qualified high school teachers.
One of these classes is College Algebra through Modeling, offered in partnership with the University of Minnesota. Students in the class recently travelled to the U of M to make a presentation of skills learned in class. FLHS seniors, Emily Dironca and Taylor Williamson (pictured above from left to right) were chosen to make the presentation on behalf of their classmates. Out of six classes presenting, the pair received the top honors for their presentation, judged by U of M professors and fellow College in the Schools teachers from other communities.
