English Learner Program (EL)
English Learner (EL) Program
The English Learner Program (EL) at Forest Lake Area Schools provides opportunities for students who speak languages other than English to become fluent in English. We have students who are just beginning to learn English, to students who are more advanced and just need more practice with academic English.
We use hands-on experiences, music, world literature, and we select materials to fit the needs of each student. Materials are chosen to reflect the Minnesota State Standards and Forest Lake School District Outcomes. Students who would benefit from the English Learner Program will need to register at their home attendance area school before a determination can be made to the appropriate EL Program.
If you have questions about the EL program, please call or email Brad Ward, Teaching and Learning Coordinator.
